Halloween 2016

Well, it’s October 37th and I’m finally getting around to posting about our Halloween weekend.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and each year I try to make sure I do something special for it. This year, we celebrated it the whole weekend.

On the Saturday before, we went to Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con. It was great. Really crowded and parking was fucking terrible, but we had a good time. There will be more details on that soon. I would like to point out a couple of things in the pictures below:

  1. The photo of me in my Bitch Planet cosplay was taken by Matt Barrios (@MJ_Barrios on Twitter).
  2. The photo of Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Stan Lee was taken by me and I had no idea what was being projected on the screen behind them when I took the picture but I am 100% NOT SORRY AT ALL.

After the con we went to the Doc Martens store and got new boots. BECAUSE IT’S HALLOWEEN. TRICK OR TREAT YO SELF! I got a pair of Persephone in black that I’d been eyeing:¬†http://www.drmartens.com/us/p/16735601

Sunday morning we went to brunch with a friend at our favorite German restaurant down here, Red Lion Tavern. We then went home, got dressed up, and headed to Disneyland for a fancy dinner with my bestie and her husband. We ate at Napa Rose, an amazing restaurant at the Disneyland Grand Californian Hotel and I tasted the best pork chop I’ve ever had IN. MY. LIFE. My bestie and I exchange Halloween gifts because Halloween is basically goth Christmas and you can take the girls outta goth but you can’t take the goth outta the girls. She got me a gorgeous necklace and some scarily delicate earrings.

Also pictured are a couple bonus gifts from my friend Mary! They arrived right before Halloween. I’ve been lusting over that Slytherin pen for months. And I have no idea why, but I have an obsession with images of food with faces on it, especially if it’s googly eyes. Googly eyes make everything better.

Then on Monday, Halloween proper, Cole and I went to Universal Studios. There were plenty of people there but the lines for rides were short.

It was a good holiday.
